Douglass Delano co-founded Level Green Landscaping with Bill Hardy in 2002, growing it from a small operation to a thriving commercial landscape maintenance company with over 350 employees serving the Washington DC, Maryland, and Virginia area. A former high school math teacher with a philosophy degree, Doug started in the landscaping industry as a laborer and truck driver at a regional landscape company, working his way up through supervisor roles to regional manager before launching his own company. Level Green's growth has been guided by Doug's leadership philosophy of "Do The Right Thing" and his commitment to treating employees like family. His strategic approach to company development included building a robust management structure early on, recognizing that sustainable growth required investing in talented leadership and comprehensive employee development programs that allow team members to advance professionally while maintaining the company's strong culture.
